Poi and Hoop Lessons
I'm pleased to be offering the following classes at local recreation centers this Spring:
Juan de Fuca Recreation Center
Hula Hoop Dancing
Hula hooping is a fun way to get moving and to tone
your whole body. In this workshop series, you will
learn the basics of hoop dancing, such as how to to
hoop around your waist, neck and knees.

Poi Spinning
Poi spinning is a performance art in which a ball is
suspended from a length of flexible material and
are held in the hand and swung in circular patterns.
In this workshop series, you will learn the basic poi
movements and how to move with poi. Poi spinning
is a great low-impact workout that will help you to
improve your coordination.

Poi Spinning & Dance
Have you ever witnessed fire dancing? You’ll learn the elements of this dance & art form in our 6-part poi classes. Poi is a series rhythmic movements performed while swinging weighted objects in patterns around your body. You’ll achieve a total core workout with a chance to add your own creative expression to the sequences. The possibilities for further development are endless. Give your fitness routine some flare and give poi a try!

Have fun while learning the art of staff spinning. You will learn how to spin a staff in a circle in front of you, over your head, and behind your back. Staff spinning is a great way to tone your upper body, plus improve your balance and coordination. Register today.
